What is vaginoplasty surgery like?
Just like any other surgical procedure there are risks and benefits to consider prior to the procedure. During consultation a vaginal exam will be performed to determine which procedure is needed. You will be under sedation for comfort during the procedure. You will go home the same day, and return the next day for post op exam. Pelvic rest, includes no intercourse, tampons or douching for several weeks to allow healing of the incisions. Minimal bleeding is normal.
How is recovery after vaginoplasty
Pelvic rest, includes no intercourse, tampons or douching for several weeks. There will be some swelling and discomfort for the few weeks, but is easily tolerated with medications and sitz baths if desired. Other normal activity can resume as soon as you feel up to it. Strenous exercise is avoided for a few weeks to minimize any changes of a delayed bleed in the delicate tissue.
