What is BodyTite ?
Minimally invasive radiofrequency-assisted liposuction (RFAL) procedure that removes fat and tightens skin by melting fat cells and stimulating new collagen production using heat. What to expect during a treatment
The procedure that can be performed with minimal discomfort but can be done while you are either awake or asleep. A mild oral sedation or IV conscious sedation can be used for your comfort. Tumescent fluid which contains normal saline and lidocaine is placed under the skin of the area to be treated. The physician then uses a handpiece that has two probes—one inserted under the skin and the other on the surface—to deliver radiofrequency energy. The external probe heats the skin for skin contraction while the internal probe melts fat cells, which are then removed through liposuction. Depending on the side of the area treated, the time of the treatment is 30-60 minutes. You are then dressed in a compression garment and can leave the facility. If you have any type of sedation, you will need a driver.
Does it hurt?
“Beauty is pain” or so the saying goes. But doesn’t have to be. BodyTite treatments is far less painful than anticipated. You will only have minimal discomfort during the procedure itself. Patients often describe a mild pulling sensation or warmth during the procedure but no sharp or intense pain. If anything feels uncomfortable, your provider can adjust settings to ensure a smooth experience.
How soon will I see results from the treatment?
You may see immediate skin tightening effects after the procedure, and improving results becoming noticeable within two to three weeks as swelling subsides. More pronounced improvements will develop over the following 6–12 weeks due to collagen production and fat cell metabolism. The most dramatic and full results, however, are typically visible in three to six months post-treatment, with continuous improvement occurring for up to a year.
What does recovery time look like?
Mild discomfort, swelling, and bruising are normal and these will subside within a week. You will be asked to wear a compression garment to help combat the swelling and soreness. The garment will ensure healing and the skin remains in the right places. Normal activity can be resumed as you feel ready. You will have small incisions that may drain fluid for a few days, these are covered with a dressing and are left open to drain. Good hydration after the procedure will allow the remaining fat to be released from the body.
