Breast Reduction
Large, heavy breasts can be painful due to excessive weight and often cause problems such as back pain and soreness in the shoulders from bra straps which cut into the skin. Reduction surgeries to reduce breast size may involve removal of excess tissue in combination with breast reshaping . The incisions are similar to those used for more extensive breast lifts.
Your surgeon will discuss the different possible methods and explain the technique that may be best suited for you. Because of the adverse symptoms associated with abnormally large breasts (back, neck, breast and shoulder pain; limitation of activities), insurance will often cover some or all of the financing for this type of surgery. Be sure to check with your insurance provider. We also offer finance options in our office that our staff
would be happy to discuss with you.
Keeping You Comfortable
A surgical dressing protects the incisions. Some swelling, bruising and minor discomfort may be experienced for several days after the reduction surgery. Discomfort can be easily controlled with pain medication.
