Decades of Experience
Dr. Benien is one of the country’s most respected cosmetic surgeons in Oklahoma. After earning a Bachelors degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1962, Dr. Benien entered a medical program at Des Moines University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 1966 with a D.O. degree. After a one-year internship at Tulsa Regional Medical Center, Dr. Benien served from 1967 to 1970 as a captain in the U.S. Medical Corps and is a Vietnam Veteran.
Upon returning stateside, he performed a residency in general surgery at the Dallas/Fort Worth Medical Center in Grand Prairie, Texas, finishing in 1974. He later returned to his native Oklahoma and underwent training in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Benien believes that cosmetic surgery offers positive results that enhance self image and self esteem.
“People get good results. They're happy. They come here to improve themselves.... So many other things in medicine are so negative and difficult, that the positive aspects of these procedures are what you look for.” Cosmetic surgery relies on a kind of artistry, Dr. Benien says, especially when it comes to facial and breast procedures. He is pleased to bring his expertise to his fellow Oklahoma's.

Commitment to Patient Safety
One of Dr. Benien’s biggest concerns is ensuring the safety of his patients. “I think some people have the idea that cosmetic procedures are like going to the spa,” he says. “Today, I think, there are no quick fixes... You're still going to have a procedure that's going to be somewhat invasive, and you have to have a recovery time. A lot of people think that they can just come to have (cosmetic surgery) and they're going to be well in a day or two, but that's just not the case.”
Dr. Benien’s commitment to patient care continues at the Cosmetic Surgery Center of Oklahoma, which has a dedicated surgical suite, including a full-time anesthetist. At our Oklahoma City clinic, patients feel comfortable discussing their options with a board-certified cosmetic surgeon in Oklahoma. Whether you're considering a major cosmetic surgery, or simply having Botox procedure done, Dr. Benien’s experience and dedication can ensure the best possible results.
